April 2006 Searches
April 4, 2006 Near Jacob's Ranch Twenty-five members responded to assist a man who had called for help when he got his snowmobile stuck just off of a trail, near a county road.
April 12, 2006 Bear Gulch Fremont County Search and Rescue was called to assist Ashton Ambulance with a recovery in the back country where an 11 year old girl from Florida came in contact with a tree while snowmobiling with her family. The injured young lady was located by Air Idaho and air lifted to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
April 22, 2006 St. Anthony & surrounding area A search that could have ended in tragedy, finished positive for Fremont County Search and Rescue. Unit members were dispatched Saturday afternoon to assist St. Anthony Fire Department locate an elderly woman who apparently wandered from her residence in St. Anthony the previous evening, unknowingly to family members. The St. Anthony Fire Department, assisted by many family and friends, searched numerous hours for the woman before requesting assistance from Fremont County Search and Rescue. Countless sightings relative to the missing woman and another woman who looked similar widened the search area for rescue members, fire department personnel, family, and friends. Helicopter pilot, Neil Shupe, assisted with the search, flying over roads, neighborhoods, Keefer Park, the Snake River from Keefer Park downstream approximately ¾ mile southwest of St. Anthony to the Black Bridge, or any area where the woman may have been sighted or wandered. Following several leads, the woman was located in an area motel where she had checked herself in.
