Demolition Derby
2010 Truck Rules - Open Class
Rules
The Fremont County Search & Rescue Demolition Derby is
open to all drivers. Entries are open to MEN or WOMEN who have valid drivers
license. In the interest of safety and in fairness to all contestants, the
following rules and regulations WILL apply.
DRIVER ENTRY
-
Driver MUST be at least 18
years old.

Driver MUST furnish his/her
own car OR HAVE SOMEONE SPONSOR HIS/HER CAR.
-
1/2 or 3/4 ton, 2 wd or 4 wd pick ups,
American or foreign. If 4 wd front drive shaft must be removed.

Drivers and pitmen MUST
sign a release form prior to race time.
PARTICIPATION REGULATIONS
-
Drivers may maneuver forward or backward.
-
NO deliberate hitting opponents
drivers door.
-
If driver does not hit another truck
within ONE minute, that driver shall be disqualified. DO NOT
play "possum". NO team driving.

Driver MUST remain in truck, with
helmet on, until heat is over.
-
All drivers and pitmen MUST attend
the Pit Meeting prior to the Derby.

After the Pit Meeting, any questions
concerning the Derby may be brought forth by DRIVER ONLY. Harassment
of the help by pitmen, etc., will not be tolerated and will be cause for
disqualification. Pitmen's behavior will be the responsibility of the
DRIVER.

Decision of the Judges is final on
winners and disqualifications.

NO PASSENGERS ALLOWED IN TRUCKS.
ENTRY FEE
-
Each truck shall pay $30.00 entry fee.
ALL DRIVERS AND PITMEN MUST PAY $5.00 EACH. All drivers and pitmen
MUST sign the insurance release form prior to the demolition derby. The
release form will be located at the pit entry gate.
PREPARATION OF TRUCKS
-
Slogans, advertising, or painting my be
placed anywhere on the truck. Put truck # on top & on both front doors in
large, bold print. NO VULGARITY.

Radiators and fans may be removed but
NOT relocated. Transmission coolers can be relocated from radiator to
a location in front of the front axle. Batteries may be relocated to a more
secure position. Bumpers and fenders may be trimmed. Driver's door MUST
be reinforced and strapped or welded shut.

ALL GLASS, PLASTIC AND CHROME TRIM
must be removed before reaching the fairgrounds.

Maximum of 5 gallons of gas in tank. Gas
tank
MUST BE REMOVED AND RELOCATED in the front seat area and properly
secured to the floor on passenger side.

No special bumpers, extra weights,
trailer hitches, locked rear ends, special lifts, blocks, shackles, or any
reinforcements.
-
Safety belts and helmets are required.
-
NO DRIVER OR PITMEN UNDER THE
INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DANGEROUS DRUGS will be allowed to
participate or enter the fairgrounds.

Inspection of trucks will be made by the
Fremont County Search & Rescue officials prior to the derby. Their decision
will be final.
-
Carburetors must be accessible, by either
a hole in the hood or removable cover.
-
All beds MUST be empty of debris, junk,
spare tire, etc.

All batteries and gas tanks must be
covered with rubber or plastic to avoid punctures and spills.
-
Tires must be DOT approved. NO
ag tires or ag treads on DOT tires.
-
All trucks need to be inspected PRIOR TO
the driver's meeting.
OPEN CLASS RULES
-
Basic Safety Equipment. Safety belts and
helmets required.
-
Tires must be DOT approved. NO ag tires
or ag treads on DOT tires
-
Posi-trac or locked rear ends allowed.
-
Radiators and trans. coolers can be
relocated.
-
Maximum of 5 gallon gas tank. Original
gas tank MUST BE REMOVED & RELOCATED>
-
No new metal can be added to front or
rear of car for support.
REMOVAL OF
CARS & TRUCKS
Each driver MUST arrange for removal of
their car within 24 hours, or they will be towed away at owners expense.
