Jan. 2008 Searches Jan. 1, 2008 Two Top Fremont Rescue was called out to rescue some lost snowmobilers on Two Top.
Jan. 26-27, 2008 Last Chance About 10:00pm Fremont County Search and Rescue members were called out for 5 overdue Sheridan, WY snowmobilers lost in the Last Chance area in Island Park. 18 unit members responded to the call. Snowmobile crews headed both north and east from the Last Chance Shell Station with limited information as to the location of the lost individuals. After hearing an ambulance siren on US 20, the lost individuals were able to call and tell the Mobile Command Center they were able to hear a siren helping guide Search and Rescue members to their location. The commander moved their MCC unit up and down US 20 utilizing the siren. The use of cell phones, following their tracks, in addition to voice and noise contact assisted search members in locating the individuals northeast of Last Chance, guiding them back to the unit’s MCC. Search and rescue members helped them in a safe return to their cabin and finally headed home. Last search members checked out of service at 3:30am.
Jan. 28, 2008 Henry's Lake Flat Fremont Rescue responded to a call stating that a boy that had low blood sugars, who was stranded in a truck, on Hwy 20 in the middle of a blizzard.
