July 2005 Searches July 7 & 8, 2005 Last Chance, Island Park 10:00 P.M. 18 Fremont County Search and Rescue members responded to search for an overdue 10-year-old boy in the Last Chance area in Island Park. The boy, usually punctual returning home in the evening, had last been seen riding his bicycle at 5:30 P.M. in front of Angler’s Lodge. Search and Rescue members, as well as many local residents and summer home owners, searched on foot, with 4 wheelers, bicycles, and private vehicles. The search extended to campgrounds, subdivisions, side roads, river banks, boat landings, etc. waking many sleeping residents searching for the child or his bicycle. Six search dogs (4 from Montana and 2 from Wyoming) were called to assist with the search and more search dogs were being arranged from Utah. The boy's body was found the following morning. Further investigation showed that the boy had died from playing "the choking game". July 24, 2005 Two Top, Island Park 4:10 P.M. Fremont County Search and Rescue members were dispatched to assist Island Park Ambulance to help find/rescue an injured individual involved in a 4 wheeler accident near Two Top Mountain in Island Park. 15 unit members responded to the call. The rescue was aborted when the injured individual was located by Air Idaho, who had also responded to the call.
